It's not every day you get to transform a parking lot into a Rube Goldberg inspired basketball machine. Nike's 'Play Like You Own It' campaign asked youth to take sport back to its roots by building their own DIY training moment. We got to create a few moments for our partners at Nike in Torrance California.

We began inside the store with a main entrance takeover featuring KD 11 footwear in a DIY basketball presentation with exposed hardware, minimal timber construction along with vintage crates and rims. The footwear pad was transformed into a customization zone to complete the look.

For the exterior design, we got our Rube on with a full size court. Half standard fare for a 3 on 3 tournament, dunk competition and basketball all day. The second half of the court was everything but average featuring three custom baskets, the center or which rotated windmilll style around a center access at varying speeds. We framed in this end of the court with 12' walls and a try-on tunnel complete with a leaderboard and gravity driven ball return system. With enough timber to build a house this build was an exciting creation that had kids lining up to get the fastest time.
